- Abhijeet, born on June 17, 1995, is an artist whose exceptional talent and passion for art have carved a unique niche in the world of contemporary painting. Inspired by his uncle, who recognized and nurtured his artistic potential early on, Abhijeet’s journey as an artist is a testament to dedication, creativity, and the pursuit of excellence. Educational Pursuits and Mastery Abhijeet began his formal artistic education at the prestigious Sir J.J. School of Art in Mumbai. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Drawing and Painting between 2014 and 2018, where he refined his foundational skills and developed a deep understanding of artistic expression. His pursuit of knowledge didn’t stop there. From 2018 to 2020, he completed his Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Portrait Painting from the same institution, honing his craft to perfection and becoming a master of portraiture. In 2020-2021, Abhijeet was awarded the CCRT Junior Fellowship by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. This prestigious fellowship not only validated his talent but also provided him the platform to explore his artistic vision further. Abhijeet’s artistic journey is marked by an array of prestigious accolades that celebrate his exceptional talent. He has been honored with the Maharashtra State Art Award (Professional Category) and The Art Society of India Award in 2022-23, alongside receiving the distinguished Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation Kalanand Grant the same year. His creative brilliance was recognized with the Camel Art Foundation Zonal Award in 2019-20. Abhijeet has also excelled at the Maharashtra State Art Exhibition, earning multiple awards, including 1st prizes in 2014-15 and 2018-19, along with other honors across several years. His works have been celebrated at esteemed exhibitions, including The Bombay Art Society Annual Art Exhibition in 2019 and The Art Society of India Annual Exhibition the same year. Additionally, at the Sir J.J. School of Art Annual Exhibitions, he received the Government Silver Medal, the Manjuben Mehta Award (2017-18), and the Award for Innovative Approach (2018-19), solidifying his reputation as a masterful and innovative artist.
